Customer needs

Drees & Sommers, international project management and consultancy firm for real estate and infrastructure, commissioned us in June 2021 to realise several foyer bars, the ticket and box office furniture, the back area of the entrance hall, the restaurant ground floor, several artists' dressing rooms, the wall cladding of meeting rooms and the interior design of the corporate office. The interior design for these spaces was complex because the design of the plots was done by four different architects, each with their own specific needs and requirements. The biggest challenge was to deliver Amare's interior design within just a few months

Our approach

By lining up the team quickly, doing drawing work well in detail and coordinating it with Drees & Sommers, and having materials in house on time, we were able to realise the interior design within the allotted time. Creativity and flexibility are our key in such complex and tight projects.

A particularly nice detail in this interior at Amare is the bar furniture. In it, we milled a pattern inspired by the exterior of the building, in which vertical lines and arches are characteristic. It is one of the subtle details that makes the entire building so artful!

Delivered result

"Co-building a new cultural house in the Dutch capital, was really unlike anything else. It is a much-discussed project. Also big in scope and also compelling due to the time pressure. Really fitting for a theatre! I am proud that the interior we created can be seen by everyone from all over the world, because the building is freely accessible. This inspiring environment is more than worth visiting," says Thijs Leemreize, project manager INTOS.
