“We see combining technology and design as a rewarding challenge.”
INTOS brings technology and design together
Security equipment manufacturers are often only focused on technology. An important aspect, but for airports user-friendly design is also indispensable. The design determines the passengers' experience and encourages them to use the security equipment.
Specific security issues
At the request of the client, INTOS develops innovative products for specific security problems together with an architect or designer. With a keen eye for design, INTOS creates solutions that also perfectly match the expectations of the customer.
Space-saving inspection booth
In 2010 INTOS developed the space-saving inspection booth. Because visitation booths are used only a few times a day, they are often seen as a waste of space. INTOS developed a solution that offers optimal functionality and saves space.
Shoe scanner on light rays
Together with Stage Gate 11 (SG11), a start-up in the technology development product for the security industry, INTOS developed the Delta R Shoe Scanner. The Shoescanner is a detection unit that uses UV light to scan passengers' shoes. More accurately and faster than before, airports can now filter out passengers who have unsafe and unwanted substances hidden in their shoes such as explosives or narcotics. INTOS advised SG11 on the design, material, durability and maintenance options. With knowledge of the needs of all parties involved such as airports, passengers and security employees, INTOS has created a functional product. The final stand-alone pillar, which became the Shoescanner, was produced in-house.
Housing security scan
INTOS contributed to the development of the housing for the security scan. The design housing turns the security scan of a machine into an attractive interior component. This fits in seamlessly with the current pursuit of an improved travel experience for the passenger.
